Myanmar Professional Counsellors is a community of counsellors committed to ethical practice, professional responsibility, and ongoing learning.
Our goal is to support counsellors in developing safe and effective counselling services for individuals, families, and communities in Myanmar.
The Myanmar Professional Counsellor Pathway provides a structured framework to support the professional development of counsellors. The pathway encourages counsellors to strengthen their practice through supervision, reflective learning, and ongoing professional development.
In Myanmar, formal educational programmes in counselling are still developing. For this reason, the pathway recognises different learning experiences, including supervised practice, professional training, and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). This approach allows counsellors who have developed their skills through training and professional experience to continue building their competence within an ethical and supportive framework.
The pathway focuses on responsible practice, helping counsellors understand their scope of competence and when to seek supervision or refer clients to other professionals.
